Satisfactory is one of the only survival games to only offer a female character model, with most survival games either offering players a choice or forcing them to use a male character.
What makes this more interesting is the developers have stated this was not a political statement; rather, the artist who created the default character chose to make a female character, and the developers just ran with it.
Satisfactory has no end goal at this time, and players are free to spend as much or as little time as they want to expand their factory and explore the vibrant alien world; while some find this lack of structure problematic, I enjoy the freedom of being able to come and go as I please, without feeling like I am not making enough progress or am somehow missing out on a more rewarding endgame activity.

Satisfactory performs well until it doesn’t; with thousands of moving parts on screen at any given time, even high-end PCs will soon find themselves getting bogged down when building or exploring mega factories.
Don’t get me wrong; players can place hundreds of thousands of components before the lag sets in; however, once it has set in, there is little more players can do but delete excess components or start a new game.
While Factorio shares a similar “flaw”, its relatively low hardware requirements and low-quality visuals ensure that players can build larger and for longer before performance issues set it.
Satisfactory currently has no customization whatsoever; however, the developers have confirmed players will be able to change the colour of their suit in future when playing with others.
Satisfactory is a management video game developed by Coffee Stain Studios and published by Coffee Stain Publishing, it was released on 19 March 2019 and retails for $29.99.
Satisfactory is available exclusively on PC.
Coffee Stain Studios have continually updated Satisfactory since its release onto EGS in 2019. They have been transparent with the community regarding their plans, including the dialling back of new content in future pre-launch updates, while most development resources have been assigned to version 1.0.
While Coffee Stain Studios has not released numbers in a while, as of July 2020, Satisfactory sold 1.3 million copies, with 958,917 sales on EGS and 367,601 on Steam.
As of September 2023, Satisfactory peaks at around 9k players daily on Steam. While EGS does not publish player numbers, it’s safe to say the EGS community is comparatively active due to its larger Satisfactory community.

I like Satisfactory a lot, and it is more user-friendly and visually pleasing than its rival Factorio; however, I must confess to preferring the latter’s minimalistic aesthetic and in-depth resource management.
All in all, Satisfactory is an excellent game that I fully recommend to fans of resource management and base-building games; however, for everyone else, I suggest watching some gameplay videos and waiting for the next EGS Megalsale where Satisfactory frequently is available for less than $15 after the application of an EGS Mega Sale Coupon.
